Smokey's True to Texas Music Fest
Benefitting CASA of the South Plains and The Texas Boys Ranch of Lubbock
Since their founding in 1977, the Texas Tech Miller Girls, a service organization, have been a staple in the Lubbock and Texas Tech community. The women of MG contribute a combined total of over 2,500 hours of community service, to Lubbock and surounding areas, each year and raise an average of over $2,500 a semester which is donated to area charities. This semester the women are raising funds for CASA of the South Plains.
The Miller Girls focus not only on volunteering and fundraising, but also on maintaning mature lasting friendships and leadership skills that they will carry into their futures.
The Miller Girls of Texas Tech
Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) serves a social and professional fraternity that has been "making better men" for over 100 years. AGR is for young men pursuing any career related to the agriculture, food, or fiber industries. The men of the Texas Tech chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho are heavily involved in intramural sports, Greek Life, and community involvement. Along with brotherhood activities and bonding activities, the members of Alpha Gamma Rho contibute their time to the Lubbock community including keeping a portion of a Texas highway litter free through the "Adopt a Highway" program. This semester AGR has chosen to raise funds for the Texas Boys Ranch of Lubbock.
